Powering the Future of Transport Refrigeration Today: Thermo King at IAA 2026
Event
Thermo King’s IAA Transportation 2026 showcase will demonstrate how electrification, connected solutions and service strength come together to help fleets turn decarbonisation ambition into practical operational reality today.
In an era defined by accelerating regulatory pressures, rising energy costs, and complex transition pathways, Thermo King®, a leader in transport temperature control solutions and a brand of Trane Technologies, is coming to IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Germany, to show how fleets can respond with practical, ready-now solutions. Thermo King’s E-Zone: electric, from E to Z showcase at stand C32 in Hall 27, will demonstrate how cold chain operators can move forward powered by electrification, digital intelligence, energy efficiency and real-world resilience.
Thermo King will show how transport operators can adopt electric refrigeration technology without waiting for a full transition to battery-electric vehicles, helping them move faster based on their route profiles, infrastructure, budget and operational readiness. By delivering practical, deployable electric solutions alongside immediate fuel-saving innovations, Thermo King will highlight products and services that are commercially viable, scalable and effective in day-to-day operations across diesel, hybrid and electric vehicle fleets.
“Innovation creates customer value when it is practical, scalable and ready for real operations today. As fleets navigate electrification at different paces in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape, they need solutions that deliver value for money and match their operations, infrastructure and investment priorities,” said Claudio Zanframundo, president, Thermo King EMEA and Asia Pacific. “Our presence at IAA is about more than innovation on display. We will show how Thermo King’s customer-centric technical leadership, electrification and fuel-efficient solutions, connected intelligence and service strength help fleets move at their own pace. This reflects the strength Thermo King brings across the entire cold chain, from road, passenger transport to marine, intermodal, air and cold storage applications.”
“We want to turn transport sector’s electrification ambition into practical progress for our customers,” said Claudio Zanframundo. “One of the biggest myths is that electric refrigeration requires a fully electric vehicle. It doesn’t. At IAA, we will show how fleets can begin that transition with electric units for vans, trucks and trailers, AxlePower energy recovery technology and modular battery packs. That means operators can immediately take meaningful steps with their existing diesel, hybrid and HVO fleets, matching investments to operational readiness.”
Redefining the electrification transition
Visitors to the Thermo King stand will experience an integrated ecosystem of solutions and services designed to drive immediate business value:
- Next-generation portfolios: Thermo King will showcase new additions to its electric refrigeration family. These new reveals will expand the E-Series for light commercial vehicles and the E-Volution range for large trucks, offering greater vehicle-platform flexibility and optimised power management.
- Fuel efficiency and lower emissions across every application: With the market’s most fuel-efficient truck and trailer systems, and a portfolio that includes hybrid, HVO-compatible and new low-GWP refrigerant options, Thermo King offers immediate ways to lower operating costs and reduce emissions. In trailer applications, the EcoMode feature differentiates the Advancer range in fuel-efficient refrigeration, further reducing fuel consumption by up to 50% with state-of-the art temperature control.
- Decarbonising trailers today with AxlePower: While the industry faces complex challenges in decarbonising dry freight, Thermo King will demonstrate that refrigerated transport is ready to cut emissions now. Commercially available for sale and rental, the AxlePower smart energy-recovery system powers the Advancer-e refrigeration unit, delivering significant reduction to trailer’s total carbon emissions.
- Digital Intelligence: The modern cold chain is powered by intelligence, not just hardware. Thermo King will show how its integrated Connected Solutions platform and advanced digital capabilities turn data into tangible uptime, resilience and fuel-saving improvements.
- Unmatched Service Proximity and Scale: Recognising that close partnership and dedicated support are true measures of leadership, Thermo King will highlight continued investment in its service network and direct channels, strengthened by recent dealer acquisitions in Germany, the United Kingdom, and Belgium. Thermo King Rental services will also be featured as a flexible, low-risk operational tool for fleets seeking to integrate new electric technologies seamlessly.
Join Us in the new E-Zone at Stand C22 in Hall 27 at the IAA Transportation 2026 show in Hannover Germany from September 15-22, to discover how Thermo King is powering the cold chain transition from “E to Z”.
