Thermo King Showcases Latest Technologies in Sustainable Transport Refrigeration at the TCS&D Exhibition 2015

Thermo King, a manufacturer of transport temperature control solutions for a variety of mobile applications and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, will demonstrate the environmental sustainability benefits of upgrading a transport refrigeration fleet at the Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution (TCS&D) exhibition (stand number G28) in Peterborough Arena, UK, 16-17 September 2015.

Visitors will learn about the Thermo King portfolio of transport refrigeration solutions that are safe, reliable and efficient, and compatible with R-452A, a next generation, low global warming potential refrigerant marketed by Chemours as Opteon™ XP44 (R-452A).

The exhibition will include sustainable innovations including low noise and Piek-certified SLXe trailer units with R-452A that use micro-channel condenser coils allowing for even lower refrigerant charge and minimize the risk of refrigerant leakage. These products reach Piek-certified noise levels of 60dB(A) or less at a 7.5-meter radius with a specially designed acoustic package that reduces the creation of sound energy and contains it at the source. These innovations also automatically switch into low-noise mode when entering a controlled zone thanks to patented geo-fencing controllers.

“Many retail organizations put improvement of their environmental performance on their agendas and set sustainability goals that aim at reducing their carbon footprint,” said Steve Williams, U.K. sales manager for Thermo King. “Our goal is to offer customers choice of how and when to reduce greenhouse gas emissions with the safest, most environmentally responsible, and technically and commercially viable solution for truck and trailer refrigeration applications.”

Fleet owners and operators in the temperature controlled distribution chain interested in transitioning their units and introducing the R-452A refrigerant to an existing system, will be able to learn how the Thermo King dealer network, the most extensive network in the industry, can assist them with a refrigerant replacement service.
