Goupil and Thermo King redefine electric urban refrigerated delivery

The Goupil G4+, the brand-new electric utility vehicle from the Goupil range, now integrates the Thermo King E-200e MAX all-electric refrigeration unit. Two industry leaders join forces to deliver a compact, quiet and connected refrigerated solution for city-centre and peri-urban deliveries.

A vehicle built for the city

Designed, engineered and assembled in Bourran (47), France, the G4+ stands out as the benchmark electric utility vehicle for last-mile logistics. Electric, compact and silent, it gains unrestricted access to low-emission zones (LEZ) as well as urban areas subject to size, weight or delivery-time restrictions.

Its 30 kWh lithium battery delivers up to 160 km of range, supporting a full day of rounds without recharging. On board, everything is designed to make the driver’s job easier: keyless entry and start (PEPS) and an automatic electric parking brake streamline every stop, while the open driving position and panoramic visibility make city manoeuvres safer. With an ultra-short 4.37 m turning radius and power steering that reduces steering effort at low speeds, the G4+ is easy to handle and can navigate even the narrowest streets.

In terms of comfort, the two-seat cabin leaves nothing to be desired: 3,000 W heating with a footwell outlet, heated steering wheel and driver’s seat to take on winter without flinching, and a cabin with controlled acoustic comfort to limit fatigue over long days. Storage has been multiplied: glovebox, under-seat compartment, dedicated smartphone holder, and a lockable compartment to keep wallets and personal belongings safe. A 7-inch multimedia display, reversing camera and parking sensors round out an equipment level built for intensive, day-after-day use.

All-electric refrigeration built for the last mile

To protect the cold chain integrity, the G4+ relies on the Thermo King E-200e MAX, a high-performance all-electric refrigeration unit from Thermo King’s E-Lite portfolio. Built on a 100% electric architecture with zero direct emissions, the unit is powered by the vehicle’s battery both on the move and during deliveries, ensuring constant temperature control throughout the route. During extended stationary periods, it can also connect to a 220 V power source, helping preserve the vehicle range day and night.

Designed for last mile applications, the E-200e MAX supports both chilled and frozen operations down to -18 °C, in single or multi-temperature mode. Its reverse-cycle technology ensures rapid pulldown and fast temperature recovery after each door opening, while holdover capability helps maintain precise temperature control between stops, a decisive asset on intensive urban multi-stop rounds.

Lightweight, compact and quiet, the E-200e MAX complements the G4+ platform by preserving payload and limiting noise and vibration, enabling night-time deliveries and access to sensitive areas. With integrated telematics and a design focused on uptime, low maintenance and high reliability, the Thermo King E-200e MAX supports operators looking to improve visibility, compliance and delivery efficiency.

Total connected visibility, accessible in one place

With the G4+ equipped with the Thermo King E-200e MAX, all operational data is available through MyGoupil digital portal. Vehicle and cold-chain data are centralised and accessible 24/7, from computer, tablet or smartphone.

Fleet managers monitor vehicle and the refrigeration unit status in real time, including cargo temperature, number of door openings, geolocation, charge level, instant alerts in the event of deviations, and automated compliance reports. This gives operators a single point of complete visibility across deliveries, routes and fleets.

This end-to-end traceability supports cold-chain compliance and helps meet customer expectations with continuous proof of temperature-controlled delivery, without manual handling or data entry.
