Thermo King’s E-200 is the big winner at Transpotec 2019
Event
With over 41,000 visitors, including leading distribution companies and top international buyers, Transpotec Logitec certainly ticks all the right boxes. And that’s not just because it’s Italy’s biggest transport and logistics exhibition. There are also the much-coveted awards – the transport ‘Stars’ – that recognize outstanding performance in the fields of efficiency, safety, digitization, and innovation. Which as you can probably guess, was where Thermo King and Frigoblock scored big.
The award-winning E-200!
Armed with a stand and a host of eager product specialists, Thermo King and Frigoblock were at the event in force. Taking center stage were our trailer solutions, along with the E-200 all electric unit being launched in Italy this year.
In fact, the E-200 was the stand out performer, grabbing the attention of delegates and industry press alike – as well as being recognized as the best reefer transport solution in terms of sustainability by Tuttotrasporti magazine.
This was obviously fantastic news, and as a result, our stand was a hub of interest, which was good considering most of Italy’s biggest transport companies had representatives in attendance!
Building partnerships
Another interesting visitor to Transpotec was Volkswagen, as they showcased some of their new electric trucks and vehicles. Interestingly, Volkswagen had been previously been guests at Thermo King’s Barcelona factory to run their eye over the E-200.
From this visit, Volkswagen had left fully convinced that the E-200 represents the future of all-electric transport refrigeration.
Fast-forward to the Transpotec event, and Volkswagen were present alongside their client Esselunga (the Italian food distribution giant) who had just bought 10 Volkswagen E-Crafter electric vehicles – fitted with E-200 units.
Building on success
Other highlights included the official launch of the Stage V SLXi that offers capabilities in line with the latest NRMM legislation. These include a new unit and a new engine, as well as the all-singing Frigoblock EK25 split refrigeration machine – all designed for the trailer.
So another award, another successful event, and another demonstration of our innovation in action. Good work!
