Keeping the 2014 Winter Games Cool: Thermo King mobile service centre provides 24/7 support to refrigerated delivery vehicles during the Winter Games
From February 7 till 23, 2014, the world’s focus will be on Sochi, Russia. It is estimated that hundreds of thousands of spectators, media representatives and state officials will watch around 6,000 athletes from 85 countries compete in the Winter Games.
During these Winter Games, planning and organisation are paramount, including the provision of food. Refrigerated transport companies from across Russia will provide daily delivery of fresh and frozen food in Sochi.
There is never a good moment for a refrigeration truck to experience issues or even worse, a breakdown. But for those companies providing food services during the Sochi 2014 Winter Games, it is good to know help is at hand.
A mobile service centre from Thermo King, a manufacturer of transport temperature control solutions for a variety of mobile applications and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, will be on site and at hand 24/7 until the middle of March, when the Olympic flame will leave Russia.
“The 2014 Winter Games are a great logistics challenge for both delivery companies and service providers,” said Vladimir Konovalov of Auto-Holod-Kavkaz, the local Thermo King dealer. “Due to stringent security measures in place, we had to arrange for special accreditation. With a list of parts and service tools preapproved by the authorities, the service team is ready to provide support where needed.”
